Marketing Tips

Attracting
Big Players
Have you ever
been to Vegas? If so, you've surely noticed that VIPs are treated
differently than the rest of us. These big players, known as "Whales",
are pampered with private limo rides to and from the airport,
luxury accommodations, expensive meals and lavish gifts.
Las Vegas
casinos know that these big players will gamble enormous amounts
of money during their stay. Therefore, casinos will go out of
their way to attract and keep these "Whales".
Your web site
should be no different. If you can attract the big players to
your site and convert them into real casino players with one or
more of your affiliate programs, you will earn considerably more
money than those affiliates that convert small-time gamblers.
When designing your site and coordinating your marketing efforts,
remember to target the whales.
Tips for
attracting Big Players:
Don't target
visitors looking for free stuff. Millions of Internet surfers
do nothing but search for free offers. They usually have no intention
of spending a dime, they simply enjoy collecting freebies. Avoid
advertising on or exchanging links with so-called "free sites"
as the resulting visitors tend to have little or no value.
Choose your
casino webmaster affiliate programs
carefully. Look for sites that offer excellent rewards programs
and frequent promotions for existing players - sites that go out
of their way to keep current players happy. Your serious profit
will come from repeat business, so keep this in mind when choosing
your casino webmaster partner programs.
Try marketing
"offline" for players. There are numerous gaming-related
publications that accept advertising from casinos and sportsbooks.
Choose magazines that would appeal to your target audience and
run a small initial ad to test the results.

Promoting
Your Casino & Sportsbook Program
Your web site
MUST have traffic
without it, you'll never sign up new
players. Without new players, you'll never make any money
it's that simple. Attracting web site traffic can be a challenging
task
getting visitors to return can be even more daunting.
However, by
implementing and maintaining certain strategies before you start
promoting your site, you can position yourself to better attract
and convert your web site traffic into paying customers.
Perhaps the
most important thing to consider is the initial impression your
site makes on a visitor. It's often said that first impressions
are lasting impressions
this has never been truer than
in web site development and promotion. Before you begin promoting
your web site, be certain that your content that will interest
your visitors and make sure your pages are fast loading and all
links are working properly. Nothing will turn off a new visitor
to your site faster more then a page with tons of slow loading
banners and no useful content. You've no doubt seen these banner
farms all over the web. And, you can almost bet that those webmasters
aren't making any real money. Banner farms just don't work!
If your visitor's
first impression is a negative one, you've probably lost that
visitor for good. They'll most likely never return to your site
no matter how much you promote it. Build a simple, clean and useful
web site and you'll have a head start on winning the battle.
You may have
heard it before
"Content is King". Incorporate
quality content targeted to your intended audience and keep it
updated frequently. Our recommended
casino webmaster programs will provide you with live news
feeds, sports scores and schedules, current betting lines and
more. This material can be easily incorporated into your web site
and updates automatically to provide fresh content for your visitors.
Remember that your visitors are looking for useful content, not
a bunch of hype.
Make sure
your site attracts return visitors. The key to success in online
promotion is getting surfers to return again and again to your
site. Consider incorporating free e-mail, free web pages, chat,
online games and player news boards helps to establish your site
as a great place to come back to. Email newsletters are an excellent
way to let people know when you've added new features or discovered
exciting new promotions.

Search
Engine Secrets

Choose
Your Domain Name Wisely
Selecting a
good domain name can help to increase your search engine rankings
dramatically. The name can be a Bet19um of 67 characters, including
the last four which will be most likely be .com, .net or .org.
Your domain name may contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
A hyphen may not start or end the name.
Though domain
names can be up to 63 characters long, some versions of Netscape
will not open pages residing on domains over 59 characters. Therefore,
59 characters has traditionally been the practical limit for savvy
Webmasters. However, some experts report that Yahoo has recently
begun rejecting domain submissions over 54 characters. So, although
domain registrars will sell you longer domains, you'd be wise
to stay under 55 characters (not including the .com or other suffix).
Describe what
you want to tell people about your site, then compress it into
55 characters. Some sources say that separating keywords by hyphens
will help increase your ranking in certain search engines. How
ever you decide to style your name, be certain that you combine
your main keywords into the domain.
Examples:
www.Football-Betting-Directory.com
www.Internet-Casino-Game.com
www.Betting-College-Basketball.com

Understanding
Keywords
Keywords and
keyword phrases describe the search terms that internet users
enter on a search engine site when looking for a specific subject
on the web. Most webmasters attempt to target a single popular
keyword, such as "casinos". While there is a significant
amount of traffic generated by a search term such as "casinos",
your chances of being found amidst the thousands of other sites
clamoring for position on this term are much like the proverbial
needle in a haystack. You simply can't win the search engine battle
for such a broad term.
Your best
results will come from targeting niche keyword phrases. For example,
rather than focusing a page of your site around the term "casinos",
try narrowing your focus to something more specific. Consider
building an entire page around a more specific search term like
"online casino slots" or "internet casino blackjack".
The amount of traffic for terms such as these is significantly
less than it is for the broad term "casinos", but your
chances of garnering top search engine rankings are much greater.
With better search engine ranking comes more traffic and more
profit!
There are
many tools available for determining which keyword phrases to
target. We recommend the following:

Using
Meta Tags Properly
Meta tags
are used by most search engines to help identify the focus and
content of a web site. While each search engine interprets meta
tags differently, the basic tags are universal.
All meta tags
are inserted into your page using html and are invisible to your
visitors. They must always be inserted into the header between
the <head> </head> tags.
Commonly
used meta tags:
Title
Used to establish the title of your page(s)
Usage:
<meta name="title" content="Online Casino
Slot Machines - Win Big Jackpots">
Keywords
Used by some search engines as a reference for indexing web
sites. List only those few keywords that pertain to your site.
Usage:
<meta name="keywords" content="online slots,
casino slot machines, jackpots">
Description
Many search engines use this field to determine how your site
description appears in their results.
Usage:
<meta name="description" content="Online casino
slot machine tips and resources for winning big jackpots on
the internet. Discover which casinos pay the most and learn
how to increase your odds of hitting a big jackpot.">
Keyword
Tips
Always include the most important keyword early in both the page
Title and in its Description tags. But be careful, some search
engines will actually exclude your site if you repeat a keyword
too many times.

Web
Design Advice & Resources

Don't
Lose Your Traffic to Slow-Loading Pages
We've all
seen them
web sites that load like molasses! Visitors wait
for an eternity as graphics, banners and animations load. Some
sites are so slow that a web surfer may think their browser has
crashed. Don't let this happen to you!
After about
twenty seconds, most visitors will probably leave your site if
it hasn't fully loaded. And, unfortunately, casino and sportsbook
sites are among the worst offenders. Most new webmasters simply
can't resist adding flashy animated buttons and banners to their
pages. The logic being "The more offers I make available,
the more money I am going to earn". Nothing could be further
from the truth.
The banner
farm approach to casino marketing does not work effectively. You
can improve sales considerably by ensuring that all of your pages
load in a reasonable amount of time
about 20 seconds for
the average user.
Here are
some tips for speeding up your site:
Use text
links rather then graphics whenever possible. Always ask yourself
"Do I really need that flash animation or blinking slot
machine?" If the answer is no, go with a text link instead.
A series
of quickly navigated, fast loading pages is always preferable
to one large, slow loading one.
Always optimize
the graphics that you do use in order to minimize file size
and download time.
When choosing
banners always opt for the smallest one that effectively conveys
the message.
